Freshening up your home during season changes can lift the mood and prepare you for the craziness to come with the holidays. Follow these 4 tips to find out how you can make small changes that will pack a punch.
- Paint. Painting even just one wall, or doing something like color blocking, can really freshen up a room. It doesn’t have to be costly. One quart or one gallon of paint can go along way. You don’t have to paint the full house or even the full room. You can do just one wall or my personal favorite, color blocking. Color blocking is just a fun shape on a section of the wall. It can really bring a fun pop to any room no matter the shape, color or position in the room.
- Rearrange furniture. You can create a whole new environment within your same room with the simple task of rearranging your furniture. Move your bed to a different wall, move the dresser somewhere else, move your sofa to face a new direction. The options are unlimited, even in the small spaces.
- New color pallet. Bring in some new colors with your décor. You can find things used at The Goodwill, low pricing at Ross or various stores that won’t break the bank. Bring in some greenery with some plants, or, even faux plants. Fresh colors can make a drab and dreary room to fresh and inviting with the matter of simple décor changes
- Restore an old piece of furniture. You don’t have to go to Pottery Barn and spend a fortune on a cool piece of furniture. Get a piece from a used store like Habitat for Humanity, or even find a piece of furniture on the side of the road for free. Find cool ideas on Pinterest or create your own masterpiece. This shabby chic piece of furniture can change the mood of your space for super cheap.
When it comes to freshening up your home, your options are unlimited and for less money than you would think. Not every change has to cost thousands to update your home. The simple things truly matter.
